Would you like to feel close and connected in your relationships by feeling a deeper sense of being seen, known and understood? Would you like to experience healthy relationships and community the way God meant for us to experience it?

In 2008, through a dream encounter with the Lord, Barry & Lori Byrne received a significant strategy on how to heal, strengthen and transform marriages – this was the birthing of Love After Marriage (LAM). After facilitating many LAM workshops and seeing the types of issues that many marriages struggled with, the Byrnes felt like the Lord was saying, “Get to the singles before they are married!” In 2010, the son of Barry & Lori Byrne – Brendon Byrne – created and led the original singles ministry home group that piloted the Single Life Workshop (SLW) ministry, which was founded by Barry, Lori & Brendon Byrne. Since then, God has been bringing incredible breakthrough and transformation to singles all around the world!

Here are just some of the things participants are saying about their SLW experience:

“I feel loved by God in a deeper, more intimate way. I had a lot of fear surrounding relationships and the opposite sex and God has brought me so much freedom. For the first time in years, I am now excited about my future spouse and my marriage! I also feel more confident in listening to God’s voice and having healthy boundaries. Thank you so much!”

“Single Life Workshop has made me excited about my relationship with Jesus in a way I’d always hoped was possible. Through this and the amazing teachings on relationships, I feel connected to Holy Spirit and I’m ready to have healthy, honest, open relationships in the way God always intended. Thank you, SLW! The Lord has truly worked through you to bring me closer to Him.”

“SLW has really helped me understand the importance of being in healthy relationships. The tools given are so useful and I can’t wait to use them! I feel so blessed to have been put with such a wonderful group of people who have encouraged me all the way. I have learned so much about myself and Jesus; I leave this experience with a much healthier, hopeful outlook for the future.”

The goal for Single Life Workshop is to encourage growth in learning how to do relationships well. We don’t believe in just teaching and passing on information. We put men and women in small groups so they have a hands-on opportunity to use the tools we’ve given them in order to relate to one another, share and be themselves. With their appointed “family”, they will talk, laugh, play and work through the significant things that would otherwise hinder them in having healthy, transparent, intimate relationships. This workshop is not about finding a mate but about becoming healthy, confident and ready for an amazing marriage!

Your participation in SLW will provide you with these practical tools and insights:

  • Fresh and bold teaching to confront deep-rooted issues that prevent you from relationship
  • Learning to love yourself so that you will allow others to love you
  • Opportunities to practice sharing and being vulnerable within the safety of a small group
  • Hope and preparation for an amazing marriage
  • How to pursue and engage the opposite sex in relationship
  • Cultivating healthy boundaries and learning the truth about “no”
  • Biblical revelation to see sex as the incredible gift God’s given to a husband and wife
  • Homework assignments that challenge and activate the sessions
  • Having a good time while being in community and learning to trust others

CORE VALUES

VULNERABILITY AND TRANSPARENCY

This is essential within the small groups. Participants will come into the workshop with different comfort levels in regards to their willingness to share. Keep encouraging them to take risks to share openly about their lives and feelings, inviting the others (the body of Christ) and Holy Spirit to come into those places and be the Wonderful Counselor.

WISDOM AND DISCERNMENT

We want SLW to be a place where there is freedom to question and learn. We encourage participants to recognize what they perceive through their spirit and to validate that perception through the Word of God and through the honest feedback of the SLW community. Through this process, people learn to discern through their understanding as well as through their spirits.

HONESTY AND TRUTHFULNESS

These go hand-in-hand with vulnerability and transparency. We encourage the participants to go to new levels of honesty with one another. Trust, security and intimacy are the fruit of honesty and truthfulness when combined with mutual respect. It is worth the risk!

FAITH, BELIEF AND EXPECTATION

We begin each workshop by inviting the supernatural transforming power and presence of Holy Spirit. We have confidence that God will come and strengthen each person in their ability to form Godly and loving relationships. He is ready to empower everyone to do the impossible. He is for every person. We invite Holy Spirit to stir up faith in each participant to believe and expect God’s loving intervention!

COMMITMENT

SLW requires a significant time commitment. In order to get the most out of SLW, people must make attending SLW and doing the homework a priority. In addition, they must commit to investing themselves emotionally and spiritually. This is one of the most important investments they can make on behalf of their lives and their relationships!

DEPENDENCY ON HOLY SPIRIT

Holy Spirit is really the One leading this workshop. We strive to continually listen to His direction throughout the sessions. For example, this can mean a willingness to go after prayer in areas He is bringing to the forefront or spending more time than allotted in an area because He’s moving.

A FOUNDATION IN THE WORD OF GOD

All of our understanding and teaching of relationships, sex and marriage is founded on truths and principles from the Bible.

PERSEVERANCE

Every person needs to be reminded to stick to their commitment to getting breakthrough. They must not easily give up but be willing to make growth a priority. We have had participants that did not get their breakthrough until one of the last sessions of the workshop. We encourage them to continue to press in for their breakthrough until they receive it!

WORKSHOP CORE COMPONENTS

Single Life Workshop has been designed with the following core components. Listed is a brief explanation of each component’s purpose and application:

TESTIMONIES

Sharing testimonies of what God is accomplishing in other’s lives is a powerful opportunity to encourage those who may be struggling to see breakthrough in their own lives. After a person shares their testimony, we pray and release this same breakthrough and blessing on the other participants. “And they overcame him because of the blood of the Lamb and because of the word of their testimony…” (Revelation 12:11)

DVD TEACHING

This DVD teaching time presents foundational teaching on Godly, healthy relationships, preparing the way with truth that will be applied practically in the class activities. The teachings address three distinct but related areas: our spiritual, relational and sexual wholeness.

CORPORATE ACTIVITY

Teaching and then modeling the tools in front of the class allows the participants to experience the tools as it is applied to their current circumstances, as well as allows the rest of the group to see the tools practiced in real life.

INDIVIDUAL/GROUP ACTIVITY

Here is where the rubber meets the road! Sometimes the activity is done individually, or at other times, as a group. These individual/group activities give people opportunity to quietly evaluate their own feelings and behavior and share them with the others in the small group. The work done during this time often prepares the way for further growth during the rest of the workshop. Small Group Facilitators listen with the help of the Holy Spirit and facilitate a prayer time for each person after they share. Every person is empowered to minister as the small group gathers around each person, lays hands on them, and prays.

Note: We require those who want to be registered to lead a Single Life Workshop in their local area to attend either the full 12-week workshop or and intensive workshop. There are other requirements for becoming registered. Please CONTACT US for more information.
