What if you started believing what you prayed?
Our son Deacon, who is 10 now, said something to me the other day that hit hard. He said, “Mom, you are starting to believe your prayers now.” Let me give a little context to what he said. Deacon has had challenges throughout his life that we have been seeking help on in the natural but also believing for healing in the supernatural. We have seen it definitely intertwine with our sweet Deacon. As we were driving back from school the other day, Deacon seemed dis-regulated and was having a hard time. This actually has become more of a rare occurrence in the last few weeks as we have been doing a powerful, yet gentle mineral detox with him. However, I really felt the enemy was trying to come in through what Deacon was feeling in the car. I began to take authority over the assignment of the enemy and began blessing Deacon’s spirit with peace and to know that he could overcome through the power of Jesus in him! I also encouraged Deacon to use his own authority and command these symptoms away in Jesus’ name! We have really been going after this with our kids and training them to take authority over the enemy.
So back to the car, we just began praying and by the time we got home, Deacon says, “Mom! I feel more peaceful!” So, we praised God for that! Then, we stayed outside because he wanted to ride his new bike that he had just got for his birthday. As he was riding around in the driveway, I asked him if he felt like our prayers worked. I want him to know and understand that any victory we gain is always from Jesus! Deacon responded and said, Yes! But then he says, “Mom, your prayers are working better and faster now! I said, you think so? He said, “Yes! you are starting to believe your prayers now.”
That just hit me hard. I thought about it for a long time. Deacon may not have realized the magnitude of what he said but it carried weight. This is a BIG part to the healing journey we are all on right now! Actually believing what we are praying. It’s easy to pray for something or someone, but is there anything that is hindering us from fully believing? Is there an ounce of unbelief or doubt? Maybe we don’t even realize it, but unbelief is something that is constantly trying to come against us when we are believing for something such as healing.
In Mark 4:39 it tells of the power that Jesus carried. “He got up, rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, “Silence! Be still!” The wind ceased, and there was a great calm.” It was simple, not complicated and that same power is in the inside of us because of Jesus! What if we just meditated on that truth daily? The truth that we have the same resurrection power of Jesus living on the inside of us!
When I was praying in the car for Deacon that day, I felt a difference. I felt my authority fully activated! It does not always feel like that either and that is something I am working toward growing in. I think part of it is getting so angry at the enemy that you don’t put up with anything that tries to come against you (or your children/family etc). It is getting to the place where you FULLY know the power of God in and through you and how His son’s sacrifice overcame death & disease! We know this truth but unless we are activating our faith by hearing and knowing the word, we can allow the slightest doubt to enter in. We can never let the enemy allow his way into our thoughts when pursuing what Jesus already paid for!
Today take some time to ask Holy Spirit if there are any doubts/unbelief that are hindering you from accessing what he has for you or your family. He will reveal what you need to know! Also have the 1-2-3 Skidoo tool handy! 🙂
