About this Workshop

Love After Marriage has helped thousands of couples restore, maintain and deepen the connection in their marriage. This is the five-day version: the whole journey, lived out in one week, with Barry and Lori in the room with you.

By going through LAM, you will:

1. Learn how to develop deeper intimacy by inviting God to play an active role in your relationship.
2. Practice implementing simple and practical tools that will help you build and protect your connection. With the right tool set, even the most stressful and difficult of problems becomes an opportunity to become even closer with your spouse.
3. Gain insight and wisdom on how to further connect on an emotional, sexual and spiritual level.

WHY FIVE DAYS

Most couples have tried to work on their marriage in the cracks of an ordinary week — an hour here, a conversation after the children are asleep, a good intention that Monday swallows. It rarely goes deep, because the moment something true begins to surface, life interrupts it.

Five days removes the interruption. You step out of your routine entirely: no work, no errands, no phone calls waiting. What one evening a week cannot reach, four long days can, because nothing gets to close back up overnight. Couples arrive on Monday carrying something they have carried for years, and leave on Friday having actually set it down.

That is also why the days are long, and why we ask you not to schedule anything else during the week. The length is not an inconvenience we tolerate. It is the reason this works.

WHAT A DAY LOOKS LIKE

Each day moves between three things: Barry and Lori teaching, guided time for just the two of you to put that teaching into practice, and time in your small group.

The lunch and dinner breaks are part of the workshop, not a pause from it. You eat with the couples in your small group, you get to know each other, and there are guided activities for the group during those breaks — generational prayer among them. Many couples tell us afterwards that some of the most significant moments of their week happened around a table with three other couples, not in the main session.

Meals, lodging and transportation are not included, so you are free to choose where and what you eat — but plan to be with your group.

IS THIS FOR YOU?

This week is for you if: you are both willing to be honest with each other, even about the things you have learned to keep quiet. You can both step away from work and home for five full days. You want the Holy Spirit involved in your marriage, and not only in your Sunday.

It is probably not for you if: only one of you wants to come. You cannot protect the full week, and would be leaving to take calls or handle work. Or you are looking for counselling or therapy — LAM is a workshop, and it is not medical or psychological treatment.

Your marriage does not need to be in crisis. Many couples come because they already love each other and want more honesty, better tools, and God more actively involved.

COMING TO REDDING

Getting here. Redding Regional Airport (RDD) is about twenty minutes from the venue. Sacramento International (SMF) is roughly two and a half hours south by car and often the less expensive option.

Where to stay. We do not hold a hotel block. Redding has hotels a short drive from the venue and more along the Interstate 5 corridor, as well as vacation rentals across the city. Whatever you choose, book early — rooms in Redding go quickly in the fall.

Children. We are not able to provide childcare, and the days run from morning until late evening. We ask that you make arrangements for your children before you come, so that both of you can be fully present for the whole week.

WHAT HAPPENS AFTER YOU REGISTER

You and your spouse each complete your part of the application and pay once, for the two of you. You receive a confirmation right away.

Closer to the workshop we send you everything you need for the week: what to bring, what to expect each day, and where to arrive on Monday morning.

On Monday, November 9 at 9:00 am, we begin.

COST AND REGISTRATION

$595 USD per couple — one price for the two of you — through October 26, 2026.

$645 USD per couple from October 27 through November 2, 2026, when registration closes.

Cost includes the workshop and materials. Meals, lodging and transportation are not included. Registration fees are not automatically refundable. If something serious means you can no longer attend, email [email protected] before the workshop begins — in most cases we can move your registration to another workshop within the next 12 months (cancellation and changes).

Please do not schedule any other activities during the week. There are small group activities during the lunch and dinner breaks, and couples are expected to be present for the full day.
